I was offended also. EVen if my name isn't Goldberg or Ali. Being the polite hostess I am, I just watched him slam the door as he exited, and rolled my eyes in amazement. The Mencken quote was wonderful. I thought how very, very nice it would have been had he shown up and said, we heard you had asked for prayers and hope you don't mind if our thread adds ours. WOuldn't that have been impressive? Caring, kind, and so much more winning. INstead I felt was that this person came into my home without invitation, rudely insulted the other guests, spit on my furniture, and acted as if he had done something- helpful. Ah well. A religious awakening which does not awaken the sleeper to love has roused him in vain Jessamyn West

Some interesting, baiting, little comments there...get to the point, do you want a reply or not.? Are you trying to show off how intellectual you are ; which by the way is no entrance requirement to heaven, or do you want to get down to some serious discussion with your having an open mind to an alternate viewpoint and like wise the same from me. There is always enmity between thee and the serpent...read Genesis... I wouldn't go so far as to say I hate you nor would I accuse you of the same towards me...but that is a very strong word that God uses.. see for your self... synonyms ENMITY, HOSTILITY, ANTIPATHY, ANTAGONISM, ANIMOSITY, RANCOR, ANIMUS mean deep-seated dislike or ill will. ENMITY suggests positive hatred which may be open or concealed <an unspoken enmity>. HOSTILITY suggests an enmity showing itself in attacks or aggression <hostility between the two nations>. ANTIPATHY and ANTAGONISM imply a natural or logical basis for one's hatred or dislike, ANTIPATHY suggesting repugnance, a desire to avoid or reject, and ANTAGONISM suggesting a clash of temperaments leading readily to hostility <a natural antipathy for self-seekers> <antagonism between the brothers>. ANIMOSITY suggests intense ill will and vindictiveness that threaten to kindle hostility <animosity that led to revenge>. RANCOR is especially applied to bitter brooding over a wrong <rancor filled every line of his letters>. ANIMUS adds to animosity the implication of strong prejudice <objections devoid of personal animus>. So you see , after having known you 3.4 seconds , fair to say we dont hit it off...which how can that be unless we be of different kingdoms ?? I love and embrace Christ and feel there is exclusitivity in salvation only by His shed blood...and that automatically raises your blood pressure 50 points ..and you dare to call me "little", which I interpret to be "intellectually ", so that which is the truth you have interpreted as...so ask yourself why the enmity unless, what Christ said is true, if they have hated me they shall hate you , or the servant shall be treated the same as they treated the master....
