Informed sources said the US government has now approached Pakistan with an idea of establishing a separate military command of allied forces in Pakistan. This specific military command would ensure smooth creation of physical and political infrastructure in Afghanistan.

The present US-run military facilities in Pakistan may remain devoted to peacekeeping and counter-terrorism operation, while the reconstruction work continue in full swing inside Afghanistan. "The government believes that the multi-billion dollars worth rehabilitation of Afghanistan represents a god send opportunity for Pakistan to stimulate the economy," noted a federal secretary.
