INfestation is really very unpleasant. I remember one Christmas when our home was turned into a hotel for rodents. Blue had apparently brought in a live mouse and it must have been pregnant or something, because within weeks we began to notice that he spent hours staring motionless, comatose, at certain cabinets and could not be convinced to move. We could hear the patter of tiny feet scrambling around in the walls. I finally, for the sake of Blue's sanity, called an exterminator. He put something out and I will not go into the results as they were gruesome. I think I wrote about it somewhere on DAR.
It really was sort of nightmarish. So I understand why you did what you had to do. Sometimes we just have to do these terrible things.
