While your response was probably in jest,

I've spent about 50 hours in the last week doing an analysis of REIT's. IF we're in a prolonged bear market for equities, hard assets may have their turn in the sun. In any case, they provide an excellent alternative to other fixed income alternatives. Hopefully, I'll have it finished by this weekend.

An interesting tidbit - At the end of August, the MStar data base had 6,479 U.S. equities. The average annual stock performance for 5 years was a negative .8%. Seems to contradict the airwave heads concept of a bull market. Another interesting tidbit - the market cap of the SnP500 was $10.2T or 79% of the total market cap of $12.9T for U.S. equities. This is not going to end well!

A View from the Swamp,

Berney
