I do not respect Osama- can't speak for Jewel.
Using words correctly does not make for respect (except for the English language I have respect for that). I prefer being precise about why I do not care for the actions of people. But your position certainly helps clarify why I see you hurl insults at people that simply don't make sense. As I understand it now, being careful about the words you apply to people, means you respect them.

You made quite the logical hop skip and a jump there. Or so it seems to me.

Honestly Bill, I have been conversing with you as a friend. I don't think you see it that way but I'm not giving up. In our life time we have seen many movements that have been bandwagoned by people reacting to an unreal characterization.

I remember when the hippie movement started. At first it was seen as colorful beatnicks, somewhat odd, not to be taken seriously. The hippies were characterized as odd looking, stupid, and dirty clowns; while the mainstream was characterized as clean and righteous. Then we found pretty girls and Doctors of philosophy represented in the hippie movement. Watergate and Viet Nam cast doubt on the cleanliness of the establishment...The masses of young guys grew their hair long and toked up, more as a reaction to the unfair characterizations than anything else. Things became very serious.

Osama's character and behavior is text book Suni Muslim (except for his ego driven terror agenda). It is very easy to get to know exactly what he is like and even what he is thinking in different circumstances. He supports many through charity, lives as a devout conservative, believes in his cause (which you prefer to pretend doesn't exist or has no merit). Face up to your enemy Bill, know all of these things about him, his strengths and virtues as well as his weaknesses and corruption. Then, kill him and those like him because we have to.

I would prefer to work it out in other ways but I know these people have been bred, raised, educated, and trained to this and that when the trigger has been pulled, negotiation is no longer possible. The trigger has been pulled. The full force of Al-Quaida is flung in our direction. Until they are stopped we have no other options but to kill or be killed. Killing a man or destroying a network of men should only be done with full knowledge of what our choice entails. Are you up to it? I am.
