What kind of a world have we created? Better question would be "what kind of world did OBL and the Taliban create?" Funding American interests will always be paid for with American tax dollars and contributions from those who's interests parallel our own. Bin Laden didn't use American taxpayers money to set up his training camps of terror, he used his, and the money from those who's interests parallel his own. I suppose you could say that American taxpayers funded him indirectly from the profit of the sale of ME oil. Should we stop purchasing oil or should we be taking a closer look at who benefits from that purchase? Throughout human evolution mankind has taken many paths, some have been dead ends. Sometimes we get boxed into a corner and have to fight our way out against those who's interests are diametrically opposed to our own. That is called survival. Americans have had many black eyes, but the history of mankind is fraught with examples of error in judgement. That history should at least have taught us that we must constantly give careful consideration and acknowledgment of our mistakes. The Afghan Taliban troops "cornered" in Kunduz are perfect examples of decisions made in error. They have given everything to this war including their lives. All of this in the belief that they were fighting the good fight. The world has made a very loud statement that there is nothing good about oppression. OBL will go down in history as having been masterful in duping nations of people into believing that his was a just cause? He will be featured on the same page of history as Stalin, who the West supported in the war against Nazi Germany, and it's most famous fascist Hitler. Western civilization will go down in history as advancing the cause of mankind through democracy. Which is it for you amic, Democracy or oppression? Yes, we are not perfect, and yes we have been selfish in protecting and promoting our own best interest, but isn't that what OBL and the Taliban have done? Do you suggest that we are to blame for the organization of Al Queda because we supported a war against communism? As an American I don't accept that idea. Al Queda, OBL the Taliban and all organizations that seek to achieve power through violence against, and oppression of innocent humans are the enemy of mankind. There was a very distinct line that was drawn on 9.11. However you or others wish to paint the picture, we all believe that there are bad guys, and we all need to make a choice as to which side of the line we choose to stand. M
