Bruce, but SoIP will come. It just makes sense...IP is moving its away into everything...storage, voice, data, video, ect..

I was simply posting the news blurb about the SilkWorm 3800 being chosen as "best of" COMDEX networking hardware category. I didn't intend to spark a debate concerning fibre channel.

Not to worry, I've got SoIP well covered in my investment plan (as well as other technologies). A relevant item was posted on the GG board over at the Fool today from the November issue of Red Herring:

"Visability is a navigational term used to describe the distance at which objects can be clearly identified with the naked eye. Technology trends by nature are unforeseen, organic, and often explosive. And predicting them is risky."

Blaise Zerega, Ten Trends for What's Ahead Red Herring, November 2001

I am well aware of the data storage and transfer industry's lack of standards and would not want to "predict" who will and who will not evolve and survive. There could be a variety of niche technologies that have a healthy TALC - or there could be just one. It will all unfold as it unfolds.
