OT Well, Cab is really a function of price levels. In the 10 dollar range the new gallos are awesome. Also Beringer is an excellent value. I would urge you to spend 14 dollars and get a Spanish wine, Vina Major reserve. 98 or 99 is fine. It is made from the tempranillo grape (the SPanish equivalent of Cab) and it is awesome.

Other values: stone creek; ch saint michelle. These are excellent values, widely available.

The greatest value is obtained in the following way. Go to BJs or Costco and buy wine. The discounts are the deepest anywhere on the planet. They always have Beringer and Ch ST Michelle. They even have Markham which is excellent both in cab and Merlot

If you have access to The Wine Enthusiast, they often publish articles on great values in cab.

Now, some great cabs, albeit not all cheap

Burgess-- consistently great. Cheap at 25 a bottle
Beringer Reserve-- Classy; huge (70 dollars)
SIlver Oak (Napa)-- to die for. One of my faves. 80-100 a bottle
Caymus-- a wonderful, unqiue taste. Hopelessly overpriced. I have 19 left, bought 10 years ago.
CLos Pegas-- I love this wine. 25 a bottle. Merlot also great
Hess- reasonable. excellent
Kunde-- GREAT value!

Will that do?
