There are all sorts of reasons why governments hide truths, whether you consider them good or not. I suspect that if the government admitted that it knows, or is effectively certain, that flights out of JFK are being downed by intentional acts, the blow to our economy would make the current reaction look like nothing. That said, I fully admit that I do not understand the government mind. It may be something totally different. But I do know that governments, including ours, lie to the people, if not all the time, then at least more than occasionally.
