Do you buy into zeevs view?

yes, although my guess is that his alternative view, with a bottom next winter/spring, is more likely. I actually think the semi equips are more likely than any other sector to make new lows. Lower interest rates aren't the panacea for this economy. How can it be bullish that the fed has had to cut rates by 450 basis points this year?

Lower interest rates usually stimulate investment more than consumption. We don't need more investment. There is way too much capacity, especially in semiconductors. With chip companies cutting cap ex another 30-50% this year, the semi equips aren't going anywhere. More capacity isn't needed until chip sales get back to 1999/2000 levels, and that is some time away.
