Hi Jeff Roberts; If it were possible to have all our financial interactions conveniently performed in the neighborhood only, we could rely on the good sense of the corner banker in identifying who we are. Our problem is that we have a nation-wide transportation, banking, credit, and voting system, but no nation-wide identification system. It's a travesty of efficiency. -- Carl

It's simply a question of whether (a)you trust your government, or (b)you think there might be some reason to be concerned about your government's kind intentions In my experience anyone who thinks about it, and who isn't employed by the government, tends towards (b) It's the old joke:"Hi, I'm from the federal government, and I'm here to help you " ... Our freedom in this country is basically the the freedom FROM government.
