KT, did you see Ken Burns "Baseball" documentary? He interviewed someone who'd been in the stadium when the Giants won the pennant on Thompson's "Shot heard 'round the world." The man being interviewed said that in own lifetime, he had personally met more people who were "at the game" that day than could possibly fit in the stadium. <g!>

A UW psychology researcher, Elizabeth Loftus, works with this phenomenon, which she calls "false memories." Very interesting stuff. You might have heard of false memories being manifested in the corporate world's quarterly press release, when the phrase "Exceeded revised estimates" appears. <g>
