re:You never had a crush on an unattainable girl, and rationalized her interest in you?

That's my point, the unattainable girl never returns the signal. Gay friends should already know by being a friend whether or not you would be interested. Strangers do not yet know and will send out a signal....if it is not returned there should not be any further persual. I have only known of one gay guy who was a friend who hit on another friend of mine. The gay guy, in fact, was president of my fraternity in college for two years and never, to my knowledge, hit on anyone in the fraternity. We never knew he was gay ....knew he was no line backer but did not suspect his gayness. The hit I just talked about was after he graduated and was not on a person with whom he went to college. We also have a friend who became a lawyer and wanted to run for state legislator. We knew he was gay but to become a politician he got married.....now that's being politically correct. He didn't spend too much time with the wife and still kept company with younger men. The marriage, of course, didn't last. But he did get elected.
