Your post's final sentence says you want to end the conversation, but you never actually refuted my point. To recover that $4B in cap gains profit from last year, Intel needs more like ~$10B in revenue from new [and successful] businesses. I get a chuckle every time I read at Intel's 10qs and then do a visit to fuckedcompany.com.

Anyway, it's not at all a "problem" that I'm discounting Intel's new initiatives. They're generating revenue-- $6.42B worth in 2000, in fact. Unfortunately, they also contributed -$2.59B to profit. Whoops!
