Occassionally, Yahoo will fail to recognize my password and sign on. I use yahoo as my home page and i auto log onto it. The problem appears to be on yahoo's end, and usually disappears in a few hours. you could try calling them: (408) 349-3300 or maybe one of the site on help center : help.yahoo.com can be of assistance. do you have a secondary email address they could respond to?
good luck. larry

Do you have Yahoo cookies blocked? I had that same problem, but found that I had blocked Yahoo cookies, which works until they ask for your password. Then if you have cookies blocked they don't tell you that's the problem, but it is.

If this is your situation, unblock Yahoo cookies and you will be fine.
