X says --

"Insults, labeling, looking for "enemies" among you fellow citizens, however, these are activities that are designed to wound other people, even if they do not.......But at least I do not wish to wound anyone. Think on that."

As a "Pixie" person, I have thought on that and decided you are FOS.

One gift you don't have is humility.

Do you know why humility is considered a virtue?

I know you have not claimed to be a genius, but have rather shown some esteem and pride in your achievements. I could not help, however, but be reminded of a quote from Swift:

"When a true genius appears in this world you may know him by the sign that the dunces are all in confederacy against him."

I just thought the thread needed a little levity, LOL! It is good that we can all laugh with one another. It is sad when some people feel that accompishment belittles their own esteem. We should all delight in the gifts of others...

But at least I do not wish to wound anyone

I would say that my perception of your persona on SI is exactly opposite of that statement.

<< Perhaps you missed "know thyself" in your study of the humanities? I know that I am extremely lucky in possessing the gifts I do. >>

One can know one's self without talking about one's self in a manner intended to excite admiration. There are many scholarly and otherwise accomplished people here who are comfortable enough with their self worth that they don't resort to braggadocio.

"Wear your learning like a watch, in a private pocket; and do not pull it out and strike it, merely to show that you have one." -Earl of Chesterfield

BTW, I wonder who gave you those so-called "gifts." But that's a different topic...
