This is a weird market....very hard to figure, and therfor hard to time....not sure if the dips we get are buying dips or not.....we go down, but is it time to buy? Then we go back up...back down.....sheez, I could have traded extr, qcom and many, many others like 3 or 4 times so far today....one minute they are up a good % the next they are down a good %........Personally, I am not even going to try and time this crap.....nope, I will just hold, and buy the big dips.....wont sell, as I dont want to be caught in cash, if and when the taliban is finally crushed.....nor would I want to be short right now....not saying we dont go down....we very well might, especially after the nice run up....but even so, I feel we are closer to a bottom then a top....we have seen AWFUL news and events, after awful news and events......the sept 11 fiasco...the war.....most companies E disappearing from their PE <ggg>...horrible economic data and etc, etc.....so much bad news, i think people are used to it...ready for it....and are thinking "well, how much worse can it get"....short of another major catstrophe, I see alot of shorts needing to cover and alot of sideline money needing to go somewhere, as we near and end to the war, start getting better economic data and etc, etc.......so basically, to sum up my thesis<ggg>, I have no earthly idea what the market is going to do, but since i think we will be alot higher down the road, i will not sell, and will hold tightly and simply add on any major dips.....Too much of a pain to try and time the market properly in order to sell, and then buy back low enough to offset the short term CG tax.....I was going to sell some jdsu at $12, that i bought at $6, and then I figured it would need to go back down a good bit for me to buy back low enough to offset the tax, and then took into account that at $6 a share, i could end up kicking myslef one day for selling them.....heck, a nice run and I can write cc's on jdsu, extr, fdry, ntap and many others I bought after the attack and get premiums that are higher then my cost basis....so no selling low cost shares for me.....just hold on tight.....if we re-test lows, buy some more....when we reach a certain point, write some high strike CC's for a nice premium........anyway....happy turkey day to one and all.......
