Sounds like a piece of flattery to me.

Maybe, but I think the tourist industry is more interested in money than flattery.

I know some people you shouldn't say that around.

I grew up in Cleveland. Bowling, polkas, kielbasa, Bohemian dumplings. Did you know that at one point, that Cleveland had the largest population of Slovaks of any city in the world; the sister city of Cleveland is Bratislava; and the formation of Czechoslovakia was put forward in a document called the "Cleveland Agreement".

Pitbull?
All I'm able to say is that my beloved, sweet wife just came home. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

And in this country, USPS has competition. You have the choice of using FedEx or UPS.

You're joking right? You don't think there are courier services in England. I've had FedEx delivered here and a number of other courier services. UPS doesn't make it out here.

No. I'd be surprised if the Royal Post wasn't entirely gov't, though.

I suppose you're suprised by now.

I have no problem with any of that.

Well, what's the GOP's position on any of that.

Interesting post.....

It's something worthy of note, when liberals, libertarians, and conservatives, the likes of William Safire, agree.
Public is scared about bin Laden now.

I suspect that my background in this area is somewhat unique for this thread. I'll admit that when Sept 11th occurred my reaction was It's finally happened.

But I think you were part of the group of silly liberals [including myself] that claimed, prior to Sept 11th, that the real threat wasn't from ballistic missiles launched from rogue countries, the real threat was from terrorists and rogue nations using terrorists means. We even talked about the non-sense that terrorists might use bio-terrorism or low-tech means for delivering nuclear weapons and not ICBMs. We wanted to shift funding from SDI to intelligence collection to detect impending attacks on the US.

One aspect of this "emergency" is that it existed prior to the Sept 11 and it will continue to exist forever. So this Administration and subsequent ones will be able to use fear for a very long time.

Watch the polls. If you see a dip in the polls for support to the Administration, I'll bet you'll see an immediate pump of fear come out.
