You're welcome to your view, but understand that that view is not shared by the vast majority of consumers who choose to do business with Microsoft. If MSFT did not satisfy consumer need no amount of "monopoly power" would retain them as customers for long. The notion of consumers as hapless dupes is at best disingenuous. Consumers are a lot smarter than MSFT's competitors give them credit for being. Start with the premise that consumers are sheep and it's no wonder that you'll get little respect in return. Customer loyalty is something that has to be earned every day.
