"I haven't ridiculed any group
maybe a few ideas
please, I beg you, find me any group that I have ridiculed"
................
"A few IDEAS"

I get the feeling you are not reading what I am writing. If we can't make fun of ideas, we can't have much fun. But making fun of ideas, no matter how cherished, is not a personal attack on a person or group of persons- unless you get ugly about it, and call them traitors, or suggest they shouldn't live in the country, or that they should be stigmatized in some way. That is why there is such a word as "ad hominem"- if all arguments were merely attacks on people, we would not need that word. We would know that "argument" and "ad hominem" were the same thing.

I would like to state that I have been looking for an opportunity to lightly banter with E after I made the mistake of getting angry with her, instead of having a discussion with her. The pixie topic gave me a wonderful excuse to engage her in the kind of light banter I used to so enjoy with her. If there was any "secret" and "dark" motivation at work in my posts, that was it. I do intend to ridicule IDEAS I find funny, but I am trying very hard to no longer ridicule people- except people I know well, who I know wouldn't mind- friends, in other words. And I probably wouldn't do that here.

oops. Just for once I actually didn't have this kind of ridicule in mind. I honestly didn't. It was purely in fun. (And you should be blaming me, not X).

Still, if the cap fits...

I used the concept of the giant invisible pixie blowing on a piece of coal as an idea I could term 'ridiculous' without knowing the full truth of my alternative.
E seems delighted by this idea, and expanded on it. X and I ran to keep up, culminating in the suggestion of obscene garden gnome arrangements being blasphemous.

I can't see why you'd feel threatened or ridiculed by this whimsy... are you somehow inferring a resemblance between the Pixie and your beliefs or practices? Whyever would you do that?
Why, surely you can tell the difference between a manmade, imaginary, wholly invented creature of fairy tale, and, er, the Pixie? <gg> What proof is there that does not belong to the Pixie?
