We can only hope that the lessons from these remarkable men can be learned by the current crop of statesmen.

Maurice, thank you for that, it is exactly what I meant by the US having the Will and the Might, because the bottomline is that if anybody can do it, the Americans can. The US has a lot at stake here. I call it Credibility. If 911 was a failure of the imagination, we’re going to need some pretty creative thinking to sort this all out. In one of your posts you almost said “I am an American” - what is the world coming 2. The US has what is known as a thankless job, and that is why they’re always lookin’ ta get paid. The world wants in on the action, but the US is the Bank.

as for lessons to be learned my question is: Will they or won’t they, and the answer is they Might or they might not. Is it clearer to you now.

I always appreciate your posts, especially when you call me Hitler (vbg), no offense was taken, I asure you. As to our apparent misunderstanding, so much for reality, the seen and the unseen world. What a lark. Just be glad you’re not a turkey - I hope that by now we’ve all recovered from yesterdays war.

fyi, as to my naivete, I have spent my life on two continents, Africa and N.America - I grew up in a Fascist Regime that in an eternal sense should never have been supported by the USA, but in a temporal sense they were fully supported. It left a mark. I can assure you that morality is to real politiks as truth is to tv as fire is to paper.

BUT -g- we need to teach these extremists a lesson, and we will because we can. When they get to ask, “what the f8ck happened, what went wrong?” it might just be around the same time when they are ready, willing and able to learn something new. Hopefully it’s not too much to ask.

A large section of our world’s myriad life forms, are and always will be parasites. There are two choices, exterminate the infected population or kill off the parasites. I would suggest starting off with an immediate course of antibiotics while at the same time, attacking the transmission vectors of the disease, their Mullahas, their MadDressers and their Me Dear, cut off their $ource of nourishment, and introduce competing entities for the scarce resources. Occasional suppression by antibiotics will not kill a lingering dis-ease and the patient will be prone to flare-ups. Over time, if a drugs only approach is followed defense resistant strains are sure to develop. Suppression must be continued until the rate of infection is well below the rate of reproduction, and all with narry a moral in sight - sounds pretty fascist don’t you think - We’re a sick bunch of bastards aren’t we. Talk about a laboratory!

Just because I know a brick is mostly empty space, doesn't mean I'm unaware that it hurts like hell when it falls on my head. At their most benign rhetoric-committment gaps refer to policy consistency, at their most malignant, they have to do with double standards. The bottom line is that giving everybody equal access to a fair shake is a mirage, a statistical impossibility, an inspiration if you will. Some might call this, the resource-capability gap.

Free Will, is never Free, and if you ever bought a damn stock in your life, you’ll know what I mean.

GWB it turns out is proving himself to be a Master of the Universe. For a guy who probably can't believe what has happened, programmed as he is by the emotions of the tribal collective he seems destined to govern humanity beyond his own level of comprehension. I wish him well and support him in the challenges he faces.
