hkl, I think I have all the answers to the questions you ask! But if I don't I know where you can get them.... But this is an "Understanding Islam" board. And that's what I am trying to do here. So I will refrain from answering them unless you would like to start another, more appropriate, thread for me to answer them. The conversations on this thread run in many directions just talking about Islam. So I personally do not want to start studying other beliefs on this thread until we put the study of Islam to bed. Similary, the Taliban or whatever terrorist group is threatening society. We as a society need to eradicate it for survival. Well, the analogy to the immune system is an interesting one, since the basic functioning of the immune system seems to be the ability to categorize cells as "mine" or "not mine". It could be argued that such an activity is a good description of the action of the ego, which performs the same activity relative to God and identifies God as an "other". Actually, there are NO others, including the Taliban! Everything arises in God! Namaste! Jim
