As an Intel investor, if AMD does line up a foundary to fab some of its uP lines, I guess the Duron is one, is not good news for Intel. AMD will cause Intel to drastically reduce their ASPs for their "older" chips, reducing Intel's profits.

While outsourcing production may not lead to the fastest performing chip, it might lead AMD to reduce its overall cost structure, leaving Dresden to fab their higher end line.

It could lead to profitablity (albeit extremely small) for AMD at the expense of cutting Intel's profits...
