What you see as Northeren Alliance in most cases are Uzbek, Kirkiz, and Tadjiks troops from CIS. These guys had 20 rusted tanks and it seems that there over 1000 tanks moving all over Northeren Afghanistan. All the CIS republics have interest in this affair,so this is not an isolated affair. According to the Israeli sources, US specail troops are guided by Soviet veterans of the Soviet invasion. Pay 500 dollars a day for consultancy! Big money for retired Ivans! I am reading a great book, Enemy at the Gate. Saw the movie but never read the book. I miss those days where there was a sense of order. Stalin was a beast, but at least you knew what to expect. We had Carlos to worry about, and Carlos was under Soviet control and there was a damage control team of Soviet advisors watching him not to over step the line. Who is watching Bin Laden? I say give us back Beria and take Bin Laden any time. We are living in a terrible period. There was a time when man who wore boots carried respect, now man with dirty bobms want to destroy us. Give us back the Communism and the Cold War.
