There was a demo of the actual X-Box? Or just some rigged-up AMD system as a "concept" of what the X-Box could be?

Back when Intel got the design win, X-Box was little more than a concept. The question is whether the X-Box design win was AMD's to begin with. I doubt it. But even if I'm wrong, does it matter? AMD needed that design win more than Intel.
