Well, in your case I wouldn't seek such a restriction, because I enjoy dialogue with you. But if somebody who was posting nonsense about the Phillipines, for example, which you felt some obligation to correct, made the request to you, and kept posting nonsense which was getting accepted by other posters because it wasn't refuted, you might feel differently.

Or maybe not.

At any rate, I know of a number of stock touters who would LOVE to be able to deny other posters the right to post to them or about anything they had posted. Sometimes letting false information stand without refutation is not the right thing to do.

Note that I'm not speaking specifically here about any person or posts, but discussing the principle.

I can assure you, though, that I only take the Coffee Shop threads of with the amount of seriousness they merit.

Many months back, Poet made that precise request of me. I honored it. As far as I know, she did also. I don't remember what broke the ice, but a normal relationship was restored between us some months back. I didn't see her request as outrageously unreasonable or worth a legal battle.
