I think that there is a very need in our world, society, cultures to have organized religion.

Yes, and no. Yes because as evolving spirits we're still young and thus relatively unformed. No because we seem to be on the cusp of maturation and therefore may not require any longer the dogmatic rules of religion. At least, some of us. Heh!

Anyway, having grown up all over the world led me to conclude that religion, as others have already stated, is an artifact of Man and hence extremely fallible. So how to reconcile this reality to the fact of a Creator? Simple. Look for those fundamental aspects which run through ALL of Mans religious creations. There you will find signposts pointing the way for your own personal discussion with that which blessed you with life.

IMHO, of course! ;-)

I have been busy for the last few days. Sorry for the delay.

<<<I didn't mean to imply that you are young>>>

Oh, come now. Are you calling me an old-hag ? <g>

Just kidding !

The only problem I have with organised religion is that i one is not careful, it tends to become the end in itself, whereas it is supposed to be a means to achieve an end. *A* means, not *THE* means. and that kinda prevents some of us from follwoing one particular strain of God's wisdom....
Almost every religion, claims to be the 'best'. A rational person would can see a lot of good stuff in other religions, and could see that most religions overlap, in fact teach almost the same things......

I also understand your point about the need to 'study' th epatterns of our lives although the anology of Computer programming may not be very appropriate in this case. The whole world studies the same java language. There is no misinterpretation on syntax or its use. A java programmer educated in China can fit perfectly here in Silicon valley. A COBVOL programmer can upgrade his skills anytime. But a Christ's desciple would have a lot of trouble fitting in Mohammed's world....and so the comparision is not quite befitting imo...

And of COURSE live and let live is the best approach. I was merely curious as to what makes different people tick. Never judgemental. Apologise if i appeared to be.
