We came up with the whole Domino Theory and sold arms to Europe to fight a "Cold War".

Tell that to a former Cambodian roomate of mine who's entire family was forced into an Vietnamese refugee camp as a result of that "domino theory"..

You could tell it to his brother too, but he died in that camp of starvation and sickness at the age of 3.

Maybe the color of the sky is different in your world, but in mine, the "cold war" was fought by proxy nations from BOTH SIDES, and it was primarily the SOVIETS who were the aggressors, not the US.

Recall the Korean War... the only war in which the Soviets were stupid enough to abstain on a UN security council vote, which permitted our response to operate under the flag of the UN. But I guess the UN was all a figment of my imagination too?

Or you could recall the Berlin Airlift, in which war between the US and USSR was avoiding by the massive transfer of food, fuel, and supplies into Berlin.

Fortunately, opinions like your are in the minority... or Arlington cemetary would become an earthquake zone, as every buried service member who has been sacrificed in the defense of the values of the this nation, rolled over in their graves.

The same people who died so you had the right to express such an opinion.

Pardon my coming down so hard on you, but I get that way when I see people urinating on memories of those who gave their all to fight that "cold war".

And I don't think we're perfect either, nor are we "angels".. But those who have followed the US example have fared far better economically than those who followed the USSR.

Lee, OT ... whilst I like & respect your opinion on most things, what exactly do you mean by:-

'Heck we could go bomb Ireland if we wanted since the IRA could be spun as terrorists. -ggg-'.

In what way do you regard the IRA if you feel they have to be 'spun' as terrorists?. Further, how representative of the American people do you think you are ?. TIA

Regards

Stephen
