Sec Thomson said he is likely to choose one or more of the 3 co's bidding: GlaxoSmithKline (GSK 52.31), Merck (MRK 65.63), and Baxter (BAX 49.01), and has requested $509 mln from Congress to pay for 246 mln doses.
