Does it have to, as most Israelis strongly favor such a state if it would be a peaceful neighbor, and not just a better-armed belligerent.

There is no similar sentiment for any sort of peace among the Palestinians. What the "street" wants is a territorial concession by Israel, followed by Stage Two of a "reconquest" plan.

Yes, they do. During the Oslo peace process, the Left took control of rewriting the Israeli schoolbooks. So much so, that the Right complained bitterly that they had practically expunged Zionism from them.

Another effort not reciprocated by the Palestinians.
