Barry,

What do you expect AMD to say? Let's face it, when a consumer sees two computers on the shelves and one is $50 cheaper but runs at the same MHz, which one do you think they are going to buy? Most likely, the Intel one.

Of course, processing MHz isn't the only comparison, bus speeds, RAM, HD, Video cards etc., also contribute to a faster machine.

Barry - Re: " Faster Chips Aren't Better, AMD Insists "

AMD sure didn't think so when they first introduced their 650 MHz AtHwiper - with the MHz lead, that was all they talked about in 1999 !

Now that AMD has fallen behind in speed, they want to change the subject !

Yeah - right !

Still not AthWiper eXPloder PCs in Fry's Electronics ! AMD is off to one dismal holiday shopping season.

Paul

Barry,

>Faster Chips Aren't Better, AMD Insists

Intel ought to take that expression, make banners out of it, and fly it over all of the Frys', CompUSA's, etc. in the country. If faster chips aren't better, what is, slower ones? I know, I know, GHz isn't all there is.
