Wow, what a feast!

Last night we enjoyed a 97 Joseph Phelps Cab. Tonight, I am bringing a 97 Paulo Scavino Barolo ($60) to a family party. I bought half a case and this is the first bottle I am drinking. Robt Parker loves it. I can't wait to savor it.

We split ours up. It's myself, my wife, our three boys and my sister-in-law.

I'm a bit extravagant, two bottles of Louis Roederer Cristal champagne for all of us then a Reisling for myself and my wife, a Chardonnay for her sister and then a red for me. A 1996 Dry Creek Zinfandel (my aforementioned red) and a Geyser Peak Opulence (white) for my wife and sons.

I've always been a fan of the German Whites. As long as I can recall. I liked Medoc many years ago, but the reds now I can take or leave.
