OT The vikings sprawled the graffity everywhere they went, as well as settled down, married and
mixed their genes. Most famous maybe the graffity they left on public statues in Konstantinopel,
"Hagar was here", btw, called "pyjama-land" (misusing some translations, although it wouldnow be
a literal translation)

Anyway, my point was mainly that one should be careful with romantic leftovers from the days of
superior ancestors, warriors and lots of willing young women, the nationalistic 1800s.

Not that it isn't a basic human right to be a little nationalistic, especially when the nation is
formed and still young. (the general process during the 1800s among now older nations
with more constructive domestic and foreign policies, maybe??)

Btw, it is not an accident that the myth of the "warring, superior vikings" have become, once
more, a symbol. For some few scandinavian neo-nazis and skinheads, that dream from
early and sometimes late puberty, plus the human right to feel one is at least at some
level "good enough", sometimes one must go as far as "superior" to feel better.
(Superior Tarzan in the jungle is similar but to keep the genes pure a woman had
to be imported, the viking myth lacks that aspect)

The "72 virgins" seem to be similar, some get extatic writing about it, few bother to
figure out what it symbolized, what meaning it had at that time, for example, just
the word and concept of "virgin" (unmarried or still not given birth, still free to choose, etc, etc)

72 is intersting, as there are 52 weeks in a year, but starting from the numbers 12..60 which
can be divided with the most smaller numbers (2,3,4,5,6 with 7 days in a week) there must
have been some good reason for 2x3x12? Or maybe it was just like US millions or billions, just a
general (too) large number to be specifically defined, not enough fingers nor toes??
(funnier things still happen when going from meters to feet and back again)

My personal guess would be similar to "I'm 110% for that", one for every week and some more,
just to be sure and make a point that there would be enough?? (remembering that
death in childbirth probably was severe at those times, maybe especially near or
going through deserts??)
