That is a very cogent explication of the 'coward' question, imo.

I would not call OBL "brave," either, though, for the reason that I suspect him to be "twisted" enough not to feel the same sort of fear non-maniacal zealots who don't believe in their imminent, instant transport to Paradise would feel were their lives under threat. I personally think of bravery in battle as the transcending, by force of will strengthened by loyalty to internalized ideals, a fully-felt natural fear of the loss of one's life.

These are personal definitions, I realize.

Yes, it's amazing how easily human beings are brainwashed, especially if the process is started at a fairly young age.
But whether the evil ones are brainwashed or not, they will have to be eliminated or incarcerated as long as their sick and evil ways continue.... My main concern now is whether we will have the willpower to keep our eyes on the ball for as long as it takes to win this game we were forced into, before they hit another home run or even a grand slam against us....
