If the life of the mother is at risk, the fetus is secondary. The courts have ruled that the fetus may (I believe that may be read as "must") be killed, if this will serve to remove the risk to the life of the mother, or the impairment of her health. I am told that 99+% of people are supportive of this bias. Of course, when caesarians can be performed without compromising the physical or emotional health of the mother, they may be done...if there is a doctor/mother consensus. It has been said that 99+% of people have a bias against the life of the fetus. I can't prove the accuracy of such an asertion. It arose from another on this thread. It does not seem accurate when one follows the bitter court battles that are being fought. However, if one sits in a hospital waiting room...it seems overwhelmingly accurate. A lot of people have abortions for medical reasons. The law allows it. The law even allows it late term. It has killed a lot of zygotes, embryos, and fetuses; but it has saved the health and lives of a lot of women. If a mother's life is in danger, the life of that woman is paramount This seems to be the current belief of the courts. So your value system is main stream, Maried. I hope you are aware, however, that it is offensive to the beliefs of those who believe that fetuses are people. Fortunately, when it comes to two "people" fighting for life in a hospital bed, these advocates of fetal rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness--well, usually they find a way to keep their mouth shut...
