I don't think any company will make a bundle from DVD, but haven't followed this market since 1998.

Lot of us were playing C-cube for DVD and Set-top in 1996+ they had the leading technology at the time... but it just took too long for the ramp up and now there is just way too much competition...

C-cube got bought out by LSI this year and LSI isn't doing that great with revenue or earnings.

Hi Harry,

in the best buy and compusa I saw people were buying printers which were on sale, dvd titles, cd-r disks, lots of game consoles (actually this surprised me a little). They were not buying dvd players or computers. I would be curious to know what others have seen over the holidays. BTW, majority of the items that were bought were on sale.... so probably they are a loss leader for Best Buy/CompUSA.

Later,

Suresh
