The story is basic sci-fi, struggle against the alien invaders. It holds up reasonably well. The real reason to see the movie IMO is the graphics. Watch it on DVD (I don't know if it's even out on VHS) on a large screen TV.

Might just have to see that one....

I just went to see Spy Game. It was listed in our paper as a "popcorn thriller"....LOL! All I know, is that this movie further increased my desire to never visit Beirut! Several of the movie themes reminded me of an old movie, Hopscotch. Both in this movie and Hopscotch the main characters would be considered maverick CIA operatives who are soon to retire. (The CIA agent in Hopscotch was Walter Matthau.... Hopscotch was a comedy, and is one of my favorite movie rentals...but it is really hard to find!)

Here is another review of Spy Game:

"Spy Game is a perfect date movie. No, there's not much cuddling in this intelligent action number, but it is full of cinematic treats for both sexes. There are guns and bombs and helicopters for the guys. And for the ladies, there's one of the silver screen's most memorable manwiches ever--Robert Redford and Brad Pitt, who play a veteran CIA agent and his protégé. ... And, yes, you even get to see Mr. Aniston with his shirt off."
