Being a bit parochial aren't you? Try checking out the shelves in Europe. Why should AMD stock retail shelves in recession-bound US when there are relatively healthy markets elsewhere? Also, there are no indications from CPU pricing that indicate AMD is struggling to shift product.

And your data is out of date if you think AMD lost share last quarter. The latest research data showed AMD share about on a par with Q2. Not definitive, but only the Intel accountants would know the exact numbers and I am not aware of them making any market share statements since AMD's figures became public. The market share statement in Intel's CC was based on their guess at what AMD's sales might be, not the actual figures.
