In the long run this is true ,but my contention is that the long run is very difficult to predict especially in individual stocks.....And in the short run it is the perception of future earnings that drive the market....The tape often gives a clue to this perception. The long run is only a series of short runs strung together...

Even you will admit that this is yesterday's news. The market is forward looking and the drop in stock prices came before this actually happened.....Now if you can tell me with any degree of certainty what the future holds for earnings........
