After wobbled a bit here and there, any chance that every new president will not need a war to
unite all those who earlier thought he was the scum of the world with negative campaining??
(not to forget not allowing an earlier one to reach the status of an honest hero)

My personal variation on the EU writings on why USA has all these problems in participating
in (long term) foreign policies, all those things about long term goals, consensus, and
continuity through, before and after elections. (must be a link somewhere, was only some
3-4 years ago)
