Hi, Ray - "I must respectfully disagree with you that the court system is an unblemished example of moral rectitude and intellectual honesty."

First, I never said, inferred, or suggested that the legal system is "an unblemished example of moral rectitude".

What I said was "The concept of debate finds perhaps its highest expression in our courts, where the process is formalized."

WRT the concept of intellectual honesty, courts, at their best exemplify the process. At their worst, ie., a crooked judge, a stacked jury, whatever - you'll do just as well in the neighbourhood bar: maybe better.>g<

But if the court is fulfilling its true purpose, and performing its functions with integrity, then that is where you will find people who understand what constitutes good evidence, and sound, logical argument.

Regards,

Jim
