I wrote, I'm wondering if anyone can devise an explanation for this barbarism that involves culpability on the part of the U.S. and the West in general. I'm wondering if there is anyone to whom it does not suggest that these people and their supporters are not auspicious candidates for reasoning with. BTW, they want our culture dead and us with it and they're not kidding. I suspect that by now you've reread and realize what i was saying. (Maybe the double negative was confusing?) I myself am unable to think of any way at all that even Katha Pollitt, even Oliver Stone, could come up with a scenario involving blaming the U.S. for this cultural barbarism in the way they managed subtly (not all that subtly, actually) to imply blame on the part of the West for the WTC barbarism, however motivated they are to do so.
