Pete re<<<Could we be setting up for the final wash out cycle in this bear market?

All your points seem very valid. This is a very confusing market. Are we in the midst of a big countertrend rally or have already started the cyclical bull? I'm lucky I've been holding on to my aggressive NASDAQ 100 stuff once I got sucked in and slammed in the bear. I've been tempted to take money off the table but my long range plan was once I got sucked into the bear I would hold on until the peak of the next cyclical bull and try to disregard the volatility in between.

I just hope I don't get caught aggressively long if we're testing the 1400 level again.

Marc

...the new (presumed) bull market has climbed that wall of worry,

Actually the market has simply disregarded all the bad news. It is not climbing a wall of worry. It is cascading down a staircase of misplaced optimism. This is still a work in progress.
