Hawk,

Might it possibly be because they are using money for capital expenditures that their US counterparts are forced to pay the US government in purchasing timber rights?

LOL...most of the yeller pine lobby like Mista Carter own their woodlots outright. They are private property. He has been stalling the upgrades and modernization, leaving the money in his pocket for as long as he can, hiding behind a strong dollar and tarrifs, making easy money from American wholesalers, retailers and home builders who have to pay too much for their lumber to keep him and his fellow yeller pine fat cats on easy street because they greased the proper palms in Washington.
