I already stated that. Civilization doesn't end at the shores and borders of the US. (Nor does it begin at the borders of France, as the French sometimes conceive.)

Science in the latter of half of the last century was dominated by the US. Prior to that it was a largely a European enterprise.

To those on SI who have nothing other to contribute than playing "Your mother wears Army boots"
