Elmer, I won't pretend I understand all of it but from following the Discussion between Ali and you guys and by reading the Intel spec on the P3, I agree with Ali.

I don't waste my time reading Ali's posts so I don't know what he was claiming this time. The argument I addressed was the claim that because Intel's processors had more leakage at 100Deg C compared to AMD's at 50Deg C, this meant Intel had a leakage problem and AMD didn't. I pointed out that subthreshold leakage currents rise exponentially with temp.

p.s.
I just read the Intel release about the terahertz transistor. It seems to me that the leakage problem in .13 is real and Intel send off a bunch of researchers to try and fix it and in doing that they came up with the stuff they describe in their press release.


Everybody's leakage currents are high, not just Intel's.

This logic has a lot of holes. Do you think that Intel was completely blind about their .13u process until just recently? Do you think that the kind of research that allows for "Terahertz" transistors can just be "come up with" in a short amount of time?

No, Intel has spent years on this research, and what you are seeing now are the fruits of a lot of expense and hard work. Trying to say that Intel came up with a quick fix to an as yet undiscovered problem is an insult to the engineers responsible for this discovery. I would expect such a story from the AMDroids, but I expected more from you.

Man, the expression "a little bit of knowledge is dangerous" would seem to apply here. I think you work in some aspect of software for a living. So, with my background, why don't I make a comparison between object oriented programming vs. CASE or something, as if I knew anything about it. The only reason you side with Ali is because you're a droid, plain and simple.
