I don't know that much about Farm Bureau Bank, except it is a new bank, and it is obvious that the 2% rebate is intended to attract new customers.

my understanding is that the banks get an average 2% fee from the merchants, which is why most rebates are less than 2%

Farm Bureau maybe be guessing that most of its customers will not wait for the 2%. however, I expect most customers will... what I am getting to here is that Farm Bank will probably change the terms once it has enough customers;
hopefully they will do it gracefully

some folks on that "rebate" thread I spoke of are getting close to the 35000 point level - we'll see what happens then
