I thought about saying "Polish people" when I wrote that msg. But that is not how the Pollacks of Wisconsin describe themselves. Just because "Pollack" seems demeaning to you doesn't mean it is so to Pollacks. I have a lot of good Pollack friends, and some of them refer to me as a "Kraut", (even though I'm 1/2 Norwegian). No offense meant, no offense taken. Like I said, some people can take a joke.

Also, unlike many others on this thread, I'm not perfect, I'm not trying to be perfect, and i never WILL BE perfect, so stop trying to make me perfect........... only my wife is allowed to pursue that task.

In the example you cite, I think there is an issue of fair notice. In the case of "the N word," anyone who is unaware that many people find it offensive would have to be living under a rock. On the other hand, I think there are many people who have no idea that the word "Pollack" is considered offensive (if it is).
