They also didn't declare it a recession until it was over...

I think the whole concept of being "told" it's a recession is a bit ridiculous. Information like that is purely political in nature, in terms of what it is used for.

You are making me wish I had CNBC. Marci caught you eye. I remember nine months as the average length of a recession. However, that was some time ago. If eleven months is good for her, it's great by me. Anybody got a smoke? <G>

Hmmm, maybe it was the stock market starts recovering nine months before the recession ends. I also heard that you never really know you are in a recession until it is almost over.
