that is pretty much the end of ia64. The strategy would open mid-range and low-end servers to competition from amd.
I doubt very much that high end alone would justify ia64

Pravin, I agree. I wouldn't be surprised if some Intel team already has a version of x86-64 ready to be added to the P4.
